2007-2008 Middle School Supply List

Below is a list of student supplies that the teachers have requested for classes this coming school year.

 

* Box of tissues 

* Notebook and folder for each subject (1) 2” – 3 ring binder with 5 tabbed section dividers filled with loose leaf paper for Language Arts/Reading

* Loose leaf paper

* Pens blue or black and red (regular ink pens)

* No. 2 Pencils

* Colored Pencils

* Highlighter

* Eraser

* Composition (hardcover) notebook (grades 6 and 7)

* 12” clear ruler with metric measurement

* Protractor

* Graph paper

* Scissors

* Index cards

* Pocket thesaurus

* Scientific Calculator – The TI 34II is recommended for commonality.  Price-$20.00

* Graphing Calculator – TI 83 +  (Math A) - required

* Spanish/English Dictionary --Grades 7 and 8
 

* Assignment notebook– 
Every student must purchase the assignment book adopted by OLS-SC. Price to be announced.

Students may need to purchase 2 or 3 paperback books for Language Arts/Reading with a price range from $2.00 - $6.00 each.

     White out is not allowed at school..

     Please be aware that at times throughout the year projects will be assigned.  Poster board and other materials may be required.

 

     IF THERE IS A CHANGE IN TEACHERS DURING THE SUMMER IN ANY SUBJECT AREA, THIS LIST IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE.          

 

 The students are required to color-code their notebooks and folders according to subject.

Social Studies                         Black or Brown

Religion                                  Pink or Purple

Foreign Language                    Yellow or Gold or something similar

Music                                     Yellow

Health                                     White

 Classes other than core subjects may be multi-colored to distinguish them from the others. (Technology, Current Events, Library Skills)

 

      Spiral notebooks should be purchased for each individual class.  If a teacher collects the notebook for some reason, a student does not want to have to worry about other work being in it.

 

 All textbooks, including soft cover books must be covered.  Special book covers do not need to be purchased.  Brown paper bags or similar materials will do.  A student may be responsible for replacement of a textbook if  not covered/damaged.
