Religion
We use Silver Burdett and Ginn’s Blest Are We. This year, the class will journey together toward a deeper understanding of our religion beliefs and traditions.
The students will come to understand how much God loves them and that Jesus
is His most special gift to us.

Math
The students use a consumable workbook by Scott Foresman-Addison Wesley. They are motivated to learn mathematics through experimentation and investigation. They will develop thinking and reasoning skills, and use a variety
of manipulatives. They will continue to develop expertise in:
  • Counting to 100
  • Place value, data and graphs
  • Addition and subtraction facts to 18
  • Two digit addition and subtraction
  • Time and money
  • Geometry and fractions
Reading and English Language Arts (ELA)
Houghton Mifflin’s Invitation to Literacy is a literature based, integrated
program that exposes all children to significant literary works. It provides for
the integration of reading, writing, listening and speaking. The student uses collaborative learning and higher thinking skills and builds on his/her interests
and experiences.
