Religion
The student’s lessons are based on the curriculum set forth by the Diocese of Syracuse. A special emphasis is placed on the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist. Other topics covered include:

Reading and English Language Arts (ELA)
The Reading First Program continues in Grade 2. This is a completely
integrated reading/language arts program that combines award-winning literature, real-world resources, materials to meet individual needs, and more – to help all students become confident, motivated, life-long readers and writers. Instruction addresses reading and writing development, phonics, vocabulary development, grammar, and spelling skills.
Students will develop skills in:
- Everyday language
- Using nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs and pronouns
- Sentence structure
- Using correct punctuation
- Writing paragraphs, stories and letters
- Descriptive writing
Science
The science curriculum centers on these topics:
- Interaction of living things
- Earth through time
- Solids, liquids and gases
Social Studies
