Mrs. Betza - Science 5th - 8th Grade

Mrs. Betza teaches 5th Grade Science, 6th Grade Earth Science, and 7th Grade Life Science at OLS - Seton Middle School. She is NY State certified in Biology and Chemistry, a B.S. graduate of St. Joseph’s University, an M.A.T. Graduate of Binghamton University, and has performed additional graduate study at Thomas Jefferson Medical School and the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining OLS - Seton, Mrs. Betza taught Honors, Regents, and AP Biology at Maine-Endwell H.S. for 14 years, coached the nationally ranked Maine-Endwell Science Olympiad Team, and served as Manager of School Programs at the Roberson Museum and Science Center.
 
Mrs. Betza’s teaching philosophy is student-centered, inquiry-based, and includes hands-on laboratory activities to maximize student learning. She is a recipient of the DuPont Distinguished Achievement Award for Science Education, the Clarkson University Inspirational Educator Award, and the NY State Science Olympiad Coaches Award.
