About Us
School History
- In September 1999, Our Lady of Sorrows Elementary
School was merged with Seton Middle School to form OLS-Seton Campus. OLS-Seton
is staffed by lay teachers with the pastor of our Lady of Sorrow Parish, Fr. John Putano, as the school Chaplain. Pastors and associates from 16 parishes in
Western Broome County and Northeast Pennsylvania participate in Masses,
liturgies and Penance services.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our Curriculum - OLS-Seton complies with the syllabus requirements of the Diocese of Syracuse, which are based on those prescribed by the State of New York Department of Public Instruction. Our students also attend Religion classes daily, Advanced Math, Foreign Language, Computer classes, Library Science, and other enrichment programs such as SPARK through the Union-Endicott School District.

Our Faculty & Staff
- The principal, Mr. Seward, and teachers are certified by the New York State Education Department. Ongoing
in-service programs are offered throughout the year for faculty and staff to remain current in academic and spiritual education. In addition to the faculty, resources include a school chaplain, guidance counselor, school nurse and an active Parent/Teacher Organization (PTO).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our Students - The student body is extremely active in academic, extracurricular, and church-based activities. In the academic setting, they are encouraged to work on individual and team projects, to get involved, and to share their gifts with others.
Dress Code - The dress code provides the students durable, moderately priced attire that stays in style. Today's uniform helps to maintain a consistent look, yet still provides the students with choice among
four colors -- hunter green, navy, red and khaki. The uniform promotes a sense of belonging and a school spirit among the students. Starting with Early Kindergarten, students are required to wear uniforms.
Before & After School Program - A before and after school program is available for all OLS-Seton children. The program is well-managed by OLS-Seton staff and is reasonably priced. The children are able to play, study or just relax during the time they need to stay in school.
Finances - The tuition for OLS-Seton is based on the Catholic Schools of Broome County. Finances should not prevent a student from attending school at OLS-Seton. Contact the Catholic Schools of Broome County (607-723-1547) to learn more about the financial support programs and tuition assistance programs available or visit their Web site.
